Terms and Conditions

Child, Group, and Single Rates

• Children (0-6 years): Stay free of charge.
• Children (7-14 years): Pay 50% of package rates, if sharing room with parents. Full price (10-14 years), if in separate room (eligible for the PADI Junior Open Water Course).
• Group Rates:
• 11+1: 11 paid, 1 extra free.
• 20+2: 20 paid, 2 extra free.
• 29+3: 29 paid, 3 extra free.

• Single Supplement: An additional 15% on package rates.

2024 Rates Include

• Accommodation:
• Modern oceanfront cabana with private balcony, hammock, and chairs.
• Diving Adventures:
• The Blackbird Caye Great Blue Hole Adventure (including dives at the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye, and the Aquarium).
• The WitConcrete Wreck Experience (Wreck sunk by Blackbird Caye Resort on December 14, 2021).
• The Elbow Dive followed by nature trails at Calabash Caye.
• Resort Amenities:
• 110v electricity, air conditioning, ceiling fan, toiletries, and beach towels.
• Meals:
• Three daily meals: buffet-style breakfast and lunch, and a three-course dinner with two entrée choices.
• Coffee, tea, and juices.
• Transportation:
• Ground and boat transportation to/from the island on Saturdays.
• Recreational Activities:
• Complimentary kayaks and paddle boards.
• Dive Package:
• Three daily single-dive trips with tanks and weights (Note: Two dives on the last day to allow surface interval time before flying).
• Valet diving.
• Snorkel Package:
• Two daily trips to the reef (morning and afternoon).
• Taxes and Fees:
• Hotel tax and resort fees. 

Additional Costs Not Included

• Optional Services:
• Nitrox, dive, and snorkel equipment rentals.
• Marine Park Fees:
• Blue Hole Marine Reserve Fee: $40.00 USD per person.
• Turneffe Atoll Marine Park Fee: $25.00 USD per person.
• Taxes:
• BTB tax: $4.50 USD per person, per day.
• Other Costs:
• Bar drinks.
• Gratuities.
• Instructional courses. 

Transfers To and From the Resort

• Complimentary Transfers: Round trip ground and boat transfers between Turneffe Atoll and Belize City are included in each package price on Saturdays only.
• Arrival and Departure Times:
• Latest international arrival: 1:30 PM
• Earliest departure: 12:30 PM
• All guests must meet our team at the International Arrivals area by 2:45 PM, as the boat departs promptly at 3:00 PM.
• Alternate Transfer Options:
• Arrival and departure on other days can be arranged via private charter flights. Prices vary by plane size. Flights are bound by sunset as the airstrip is not lighted. 

Deposits and Payments

• Individual Bookings:
• A deposit of $500 per person is due 10 days after booking.
• Group Bookings:
• A partial deposit of $1,500 is due upon reserving the rooms.
• 120 days prior to arrival, the balance of the $500 per person deposit (less the $1,500) is due.
• Final payment is due 60 days prior to the trip.

Cancellation Policy

• Promotional Packages:
• Refunds are not available. The dollar value of canceled packages may be used as credit towards a future booking within 12 months of the original check-in date, with no rebooking fee.
• Off-Season Deep Discount (August - October) Bookings:
• Rebooking, refunds, or credit will not be issued for packages booked at deeply discounted rates. Trip insurance is strongly recommended.
• Standard Bookings:
• All cancellations must be in writing.
• Up to 90 days prior to arrival: Full refund.
• 89-60 days prior to arrival: Forfeit deposits made of $500 per person.
• 59 days to the travel date: No refund. May rebook within 12 months of the travel date with a rebooking fee of $250 per person at the time of new booking.
• Peak Season (November - April): Cancellations under 60 days forfeit 50% of the booking. $250 per person rebooking fee applies.
• Weather-Related Cancellations:
• Rebooking, refunds, and credit will not be issued for weather-related cancellations of dives or overnight stays after arrival. Trip insurance is strongly recommended.

Other Terms and Conditions

• Non-Refundable Portions: Unused portions of accommodation, meals, and/or activities are non-refundable.
• Rates: All rates are per person, in US dollars, and based on double occupancy unless otherwise stated. Single supplements apply.
• Liability: Blackbird Caye Resort will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal equipment or property during your stay or participation in activities.
• Itineraries and Dives: All boat itineraries and dives are weather and conditions permitting, at the resort’s discretion.
• Courses and Certifications: Must be completed by Blackbird instructors. No outside instruction is permitted. Our instructors can complete referral certifications with advanced notice.
• Smoking Policy: The resort is located in the Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve, within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We have a strict no-smoking policy; however, e-cigarettes are permitted.
• Dive Safety: Dive computers are required for safety.
